  1. Manchester

Manchester boasts an impressive eight markets and 300 stalls, bursting with beautiful gifts and tempting treats. Open for an extra day this year, the stalls are running until Sunday 23rd December.

Officially the largest outdoor market in the UK and the biggest German market outside of mainland Europe, it’s easy to see why the Frankfurt Birmingham Christmas Markets attract thousands of visitors each year. Explore more than 80 stalls and soak up the live music in Victoria Square. Pick up some hand-crafted wooden decorations and beautiful gifts including toys, leatherwork and jewellery.

Taking place in George Square and St Enoch Square, you’ll be treated to live entertainment and family-friendly fairground rides at the Glasgow Christmas Markets. Browse the artisan products and beautiful crafts on offer, and admire the city’s stunning 15ft Christmas tree. The George Square markets will be open until 31st December, providing the perfect excuse to enjoy a New Year’s break to the Scottish city.

The Welsh capital transforms into a spectacular array of Christmas characters, music lights and entertainment during the festive season. You can visit until Sunday 23rd December, when the markets will close at 4pm.
