Summer survey reveals Great Britain is ‘Great’ for a reason
We recently carried out a survey to find out what you think about holidaying here in the UK and discovered a staggering 93% of you would like to explore more of this fine country of ours, with only 12% preferring to travel abroad.
There really is a great deal to love about the UK – from fish and chips by the sea and picturesque picnics in the park, to charming bicycle rides past cosy pubs and honey-coloured cottages and walks in the clean, fresh air of the rolling countryside.
If it’s vibrancy and action you’re after, the UK also boasts some of the most iconic cities in the world. Our urban hotspots are full of history and culture where you can enrich your knowledge with a trip to the museum or the theatre. If you’re looking to splash some of your hard earned cash, a spot of shopping is a popular option for many on a weekend break, with a break for lunch or a glass of wine amidst the cosmopolitan backdrop of our increasingly cosmopolitan towns and cities.
And it seems our good old British determination means we won’t let our famously unpredictable weather get in the way of us enjoying time in the UK. Our survey revealed that more than two-thirds of people are not put off by the temperamental climate.
Cost however, is a barrier for many. 58% of people said that financial implications are the main barrier to them taking a UK holiday. And it’s easy to see why, with travel, accommodation, food and drink and leisure and attraction prices very quickly adding up.
At Campanile, we’ve been leading a campaign to encourage the nation to head outdoors and see more of the UK. With Campanile’s Great Summer Road Trip we’re offering rooms from £39 per night, meaning you can get away without breaking the bank.
If you fancy exploring the Welsh capital, home to Cardiff Castle and the stunning Cardiff Bay, or perhaps a visit to Liverpool where you can visit the award winning Beatles Story attraction on the breathtaking Albert Dock, you can start ticking off your travel bucket list by booking a stay with Campanile. You’ll also find us in Glasgow, a natural cultural hub boasting the Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet and National Theatre of Scotland, and we’re proud to be in Bradford where you can visit the Industrial Museum and its textile machinery, steam power and engineering and the National Science and Media Museum.
You’ll actually find our hotels in 17 towns and cities in the UK. What are you waiting for? Get out and go see!
