Five top tips for getting a good night sleep
We spend on average a third of our lives sleeping. It restores our minds, strengthens our immune systems and let’s face it – who doesn’t like it? But still, many of us struggle to get that perfect night’s sleep. At Campanile, we are sleep champions and strive to ensure all of our guests check out after having a refreshing night’s sleep. We thought we would let you in on five of our top tips to making sure you get that good night’s sleep that you deserve.
1. Go to bed at 10:30pm, at the latest
If you do stay up later than this, you may find it harder to fall to sleep – this is because you tend to get a second wind.
2. Get a routine
Whatever this may be – brushing your teeth, reading a book or praying – you are preparing yourself for what is to come so that your brain and body can anticipate it (just like Pavlov’s law). It’s also a good idea to go to bed within 10 minutes of the same time every night.
3. Have a cool, dark and quiet room
The optimum temperature to get a good night’s sleep is about 65-72 degrees – keeping sound and light to a minimum also helps. Time to get those earplugs and eye masks out!
4. Avoid stimulants
We get it, we love coffee too – but right before bedtime is a big no-no! You should also avoid TV, computers and phone screens 2 hours before bed.
If you get 30-60 minutes of exercise a day then your body will be tired enough to fall straight to sleep as soon as you hit the hay.
